A brief story
Introduction
John Yuk Sang Cheung (08 Nov 1935- 25 Feb 2022) was born an eldest son to a family that has traditionally been involved in retail business. He was expected to follow in his father’s footsteps to be a businessman in Hong Kong. However, he had a fascination with electronics and wanted to become an electronics engineer.
He arrived in London in 1955, a penniless young man with a big ambition of fulfilling his dreams. For twelve years he worked as a waiter and then as a warehouseman to finance himself and through sheer determination he finally qualified as an electronics engineer. He had a successful career as an engineer until his retirement.
Having gone through the hardship of self-financing his studies, John Yuk always wanted to help young people like him, students who are ambitious but do not have the funds to educate themselves. He believed in giving young people an opportunity to excel in their chosen path.
